Performs well just as expected very fast right speeds

-active cooling! -easy to setup! -fast transfer rates -large expansion capacity

Easy to install a M.2 hard drive in it. I ran a full image backup on it after installing a drive in it and it was cool the whole 20 minutes it was writing the back up. It does come with a thermal pad which is a bonus.

Hot-Swap capability, fast communication, ease of use

Size - it's footprint is not much bigger than a flagship phone or console controller. Speed - It's FAST! I honestly didn't realize how fast USB3 was getting up to. Easy - It's plug & play on Windows 10, and even the drive-to-drive copy was easy. My Synology NAS (DS720+) was also plug & play.

Tested 2 bay enclosure that comes with everything you need including extra screws and screw drivers that are actually good quality and magnetic. Out of the box it's a 10 min installation to get it up and running. I'm using a mix 4TB Toshiba HDD and 10TB WD Red HDD. Tested with "large" switches toggled on enclosure. -inside enclosure drive to drive transfer speed sustained at 179mb+/second with large video files exceeding 100gb in size -port to port USB-C 3.2 across my PC from an SP A58 SSD 2TB to enclosure with same large video files was sustained and exceeded 210gb+/second I am extremely happy with this enclosure so far and will continue to test it with different RAID config. as well.

- clear case means you don't have to label or wonder what's inside if you're juggling multiple drives - snug fit means there's not a lot of flopping around with no tools involved - I LOVE that it comes with both cables C to C and A to C - anytime you can just pick the cable you need and not need an adapter I'm all for it. - fastest possible SATA connection

Nice case design, nicely manufactured and finished. Ease of assembly. Holds up to 36 TB. Name another enclosure that does that.

I've used 10-14GB external drives from Seagate and WD, and they run hotter than I would like. I tried an external case with a fan, but it was large and didn't hold the drive securely. Drives in this enclosure run much cooler than the manufacturer's external drive; I assume that's because the aluminum case acts as a heat sink. I saw that one review complained that the drive isn't held securely. At first I thought that was completely untrue, since the drive slides into the enclosure like a glove and the entire enclosure holds it securely. But, then I realized that the reviewer may have used a thinner drive. Since I'm using 16 and 18 TB drives, they're about an inch wide and are a perfect fit, but some drives are thinner. I put in a thinner drive, and indeed it can move around a bit, but the connecter can't pull out so it's not a problem. Perhaps this arrangement might damage the connecter if the drive were dropped from 6 feet, but it's never a good idea to drop a drive from 6 feet. That reviewer listed the drive-securing method as "must not buy"; I consider the drive-securing method as a pro, since it makes it easy to change the drive. I don't know whether a thin drive would run as cool as a thick drive; the thin drive would probably have less contact with the aluminum case.

- Bays slide in and out quite easily, but stay in quite securely - Has an eSATA connection - JBOD (no hardware raid to get in the way) - Hardware on/off switch (button stays pushed in for on) - Fan is quiet on medium - Built-in power supply uses a standard computer power cord and means no external brick - SMART attributes are passed through - Support for up to 18TB drives: https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=967

2 rubber plugs, a sticky thermal pad and a heat sink came with the casing.

- It feels well build - Easy to install the m.2 drive into, came with all tools needed. - so far had no issues adding the spare m.2 drives I had lying around. Now using them as large USB drives basically. Even using one as a game drive for more space for steam installs. - speed feels decent, don't expect amazing speeds with these as they are limited by USB 3.1
