Good price 12gb interface Works well so far in my Adaptec raid 5

Lots of memory

Hot-Swap capability, fast communication, ease of use

it smells like a hard drive it looks like a hard drive it's quiet but it kinda sounds like a hard drive it's a hard drive

Added it to my NAS computer, did a full format, checked with Stablebit Scanner, and added files. No complaints.

easy to install disk easy to use fast

NO RAID Real HBA PCI Gen 3 Works awesome with Windows Storage Spaces

I was a little leery about buying this, having been burned in times past, but I'm happy to report it does exactly what it says: Makes a true SAS hard drive visible via USB. I tested it under Linux (Kubuntu 24.04 LTS), with an old HP 146GB 2.5" drive, and experimented with both wxHexEditor and the standard Linux partition editor. I was able to, with the hex editor, literally step through every sector/byte on the drive and easily alter or search. This is a Great Thing for file recovery and similar disk forensics. As far as the partition editor goes, I was able to create a standard FAT32 partition on the SAS disk and write/read files on it. Was it the fastest thing on the planet? Of course not. You're going through the overhead of a USB port plus the USB-to-SAS bridge circuitry. But it WORKED!

Works great with 18TB disk

Works as described. Excellent reviews for need to have long term storage solutions. Videos and RAW photos pile up quick. This solves my immediate issues.

very reliable.

Does what it is supposed to, nuff said.

Very Quiet in operation. NO detectable vibration in these HDD ( my drive sleds use rubber isolation dampeners to mount the HDD). Good over all speed during the copy test, average about 120 MB. Over all temp remained from 27 C to under 34 C during migration of 2 TB of data. (3 hr test). Speed at 5980 RPM its adequate for my purpose but not really recommended for GAMING, a SSD or a 10 K RPM physical drive is better in that application. Files that were migrated were larger than what one would expect on a normal computer. These Seagate BarraCuda ST4000DM005 4TB HDD now serve as my newer VOD repository drives. And the reported DATA speeds were much better that the current situation of HDD's that I am using. Now only Time will Tell as to how well these work. Over all impression is a positive result on what I received, the results of the HDD performance tests and how they were shipped. Would I recommend them ... Yes... as from my current experience they meet my needs and would be adequate for Home Server or Direct Attached Storage . ( more on this below) I would also recommend them for Media Center use as they appear to be almost as quiet as my SAMSUNG F4EG 2 TB HDD Update 9/27/17 - Seagate ST4000DM005 Ok some time has passed and I have been using these Seagates for storage for Video files. I have had to make them BASIC disks in mmcc for W7. I also purchased a WD40EZRZ 4TB Hdd and have compared them. Price at time of purchase was about the same. As to differences between them not much except they WD was 2 degrees Hotter when doing copy / writes between a Seagate when in a USB cradle.

Exactly as described. Huge improve over factory drive. Fast shipping from Newegg.

Excellent drive, performs as expected. Great add on to my surveillance system as a 2nd drive.
