Please make sure your new hard drive has been partitioned
Is ATA drives can be used (not sata or ide)?
ATA is exactly IDE drive. So SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Adapter would still work. make sure that your ATA drives are 2.5''(44pins) or 3.5''(40pins)
Does this usb 3.0 to sata ide converter work with windows 8/10?
Yes, it compatibiliy with Windows 7 -Windows 10/Mac/Linux systems
Does ide drive need to plug in power cable?
3.5" IDE drive need to connect the 4Pin IDE power cable(included), 2.5" IDE drive is not required the power cable.
What is the maximum capacity of hard drives supported?
Generally it supports the current hard drive in the market, the capacity should be 8-10TB
