Q: Does this product require a subscription? Also, can it be used as a dashcam during normal driving?

As long as the memory card is working properly, it can function like a regular dashcam, recording video and locking it in case of an emergency. A 4G data plan is available, enabling remote real-time access and location tracking, real-time voice communication, event video alerts via the app, and cloud backup of event videos. Emergency videos backed up to the cloud can be viewed at any time, even if the device is out of power. If the cloud storage usage period expires without a subscription, the cloud backup function will be unavailable, and cloud-stored videos will not be viewable.

Q: Does this dash cam require a subscription? A: Remote features (live view, cloud backup, alerts) require a cellular subscription after the trial period. Local recording works without any subscription. The cellular plan averages only $0.59/day. Q: Can I use my own SIM card? A: Yes. The dash cam comes with a builtin 4G SIM; you may replace it with your own 4G SIM from Verizon, AT&T, or TMobile after providing the UID. 2G/3G SIMs are not supported. Q: Is it good for Uber drivers? A: Absolutely. The front+inside camera, twoway voice, and GPS tracking make it a top choice for rideshare drivers. It also qualifies for Ubers safety equipment recognition. Q: Does it record when the car is parked? A: Yes, with the OBDII hardwire kit installed, the dash cam enters radar parking mode and records automatically when motion is detected, sending you instant alerts.
